As many of you know our very own M3GAN is thru hiking the PCT this year. I've been trying to keep in touch with her as she goes and will try to keep everyone updated as best I can. She had planned on an April 1st start but ended up starting a day or two late. She's already traded out her Granite Gear pack for an Osprey. The GG pack was very comfortable but very squeaky. She's into section B at the edge of the Mojave last I heard which is a little behind where she'd like to be but she'll pick up speed as the weather improves.
Last word I got was she had decided to do the trail southbound. The poison oak was bad enough it kept her off the trail too long and the desert was too hot. Her plan is to hit the desert in Oct. when hopefully it's cooler. I haven't heard anything new in a month. She should be well into Washington at this point.
Megan responded to my message explaining what happened. The trip she attempted did not go to plan as nature seldom ever does but her partner got injured and the storms were bad enough for her to call it and prepare better for the next time around. Just glad to see that she in good health, even if her hiking partner broke his arm.
