Green Monkeys Foundation Inc. currently is working on a newsletter which will be available near the end of the summer. The Green Monkeys Foundation latest project involved members collecting trash at a disc golf course in Austin,TX. EXAMPLE-Green Monkeys members carry two grocery bags attached to each side of their disc golf bag. One for recyclables and one for non-recyclables. This is a practice that is easy to maintain and offers an easy way to collect trash while having fun. Green Monkeys Foundation recommends always getting paper bags at the grocery store. To attach the paper bags you can simply fold them down slip them into two plastic bags that can be always be reused. An eco-friendly project that helps separate trash while collecting and keeps the process clean and easy. Another larger and more long term trash collecting project has been developed which includes obtaining used 5 gallon paint buckets (with lids). This container offers a perfect way to collect trash and separate it with a re-usable device that can be sealed and easily cleaned when not in use. A cardboard divider taped down the middle gives you two spaces for recyclables and non-recyclables. This container can be found at any construction and can easily be obtained. Good for a school or environmental organization project, that can be part of a community awareness effort to keep trash out of the landfills. Working with many different aspects of the community, Green Monkeys Foundation hopes to slowly build up a grass roots awareness which can be seen all over the U.S. The newsletter will be the main focus for the 2008 year which includes all of these tips. Green Monkeys Foundation Inc. has only 7 active founding members and and est. 20 other members around the country. Things move slow but, with a wide distribution of our information and activities we hope to build a solid foundation for the organization which will last a long time. Eric
