I know it's sad, but I'm glad it's raining. Being inside is that much easier.

Since I'm going to start doing sections of the PCT this year, I figured this would be a good group to join. I live in Bend, Oregon and will be doing a couple short weekend trips this summer when the backcountry conditions are suitable for summer hik…

One thing that I'm jealous of is that you can all sleep with just a hoochie and sleeping bag. I don't have that luxury. With all the bugs that get around I wouldn't sleep to well for the hike the next day. Dangae fever is on the rise here too, which…

I have made a few things. 2 jackets, one a hoody-windshirt @ 3oz. and a zip sleeve vest with 3oz primaloft @ 12 oz. Several backpacks, G4, Gearskin, internal fram with stays etx. Ranging from 14oz to 51oz. A single wall tent based on "The One", its…

I made a quilt and fitted it to an old thermo reactor sleeping bag liner. Took the top off the liner and attached the quilt. Got the ripstop nylon from Jo anne fabrics. The entire thing weights less than a pound and stays pretty warm. Good for summe…

My favorite area is the Wallowas. I've made seven trips into that area now, all by different routes. Gorgeous.

The rain has returned...

Just in time for the girlfriend and I to try and go out and about on sunday. Oh well. Life's easier when it's raining. You don't feel so bad about being chained to a desk. It's been pouring here today. I'm actually pretty happy to be inside. Of course, inside a tent would be better....

So it's really sunny and nice out today.

And here I am stuck at work. Forecast is calling for near 60 degrees. Then, tomorrow... rain I'm sure. This is killing me. I get cabin fever something fierce this time of year.

Hmmm...

Haven't been around here in a good long while. Guess it's time to poke around some again.

I just want to get out....

... but now they are talking the possibility of snow here this weekend. I'm at all of 500' elevation! It's April! This is nuts. Isn't it supposed to get nice around here pretty quick? This is the northern hemisphere after all.

Hahahaha. Yes, that would be pretty bad living here and not knowing what PCT is! I think Patrick has covered 1200 miles of the trail so far, goal is do the whole trail.

Hey Brandon, yep, I know what PCT is, was asking what the group plans on doing? Anybody know someone named Patrick that does the PCT and plans on covering all of it?
