Clifty Falls on New Year's Day 2010
Louisville Hiking and Backpacking Meetup
It was a bracingly cold morning on Friday Jan. 1st as we hit the trail right at 9:30 AM and made our way down the Fire Tower trail to start our day. After a frosty group photo on top of the Fire Tower, we made our way down the #2 trail to Clifty Creek.

Spammers Suck
Really, they do.
Don't ever buy or even click links of the lame people taking advantage of the traffic to this site trying to promote their stupid web businesses. It is a constant struggle for a site host to combat these invasive a**holes. Please do not encourage their behaviour.
This site is for HIKERS not web marketers. Let's try to keep it that way.
Happy Holidays, and get out on a dang trail. :)

Peak Fall Colors on Hold
I expected the Fall colors to be peaking by now, but it looks like the next 2 weeks will see the best of the colors in the Kentuckiana area.
On Saturday, I hiked 2 trails in Bernheim Forest (Cull Hollow and Guerilla Hollow) and the colors were definitely coming on, but as of now, the deep reds and oranges aren't quite there yet.
Here are a few early fall color images from Saturday. Look for a few hiking blogs in the next 2 weeks as I've had quite a few awesome adventures since my last entry.… Continue

Sorry to be so long in getting back with you. I've been out west for a month. Went rafting down the entire Grand Canyon -19 days, 297 miles. Also did a litle backpacking in the Coconino National Forest north of Flagstaff. Glad you liked the Charlies Bunion hike. Haven't been up there in a while, but it is beautiful.

- When are you going to Bernheim? That sounds like a good time ^^ I planned on going to Cherokee Park to do some biking with my friend today..I love their new trials! We were wanting to find some new trails too that wouldn't pwn us like Fort Duffield. XD Let me know when you are going to Bernheim..If its tomorrow that would work for me.

in2snow (chris holth) said… - Shades is just Northeast of Turkey Run about 10-15 miles. Really cool place. They also have a backpacking camp as well, but it takes you out of the way from some of the really good trails, but It's only about 3 miles back to the main park from there. It's great to hike in then day hike from there.

- Hi John, nice pics glad you could post some. Glad you get into Hoosier country on occasion. Ever get to Shades State Park? Very similar to Turkey Run without the crowds.
