I asume the pictures that you're talking about are from Sweetwater Creek State Park here in GA. It's and old factory wall actually. A rope or textile factory that was burnt to the ground during Sherman's march through the area. It's a great park fro dayhikes.

- The great swarming masses of teenage girls pilgrim-aging to Forks.... That town will never be the same. I was just out there a couple of weeks ago on a coastal backpack. There are some really nice coast hikes no more than 15 mins from Forks.

I look forward to learning more all the time as being a rep working with multiple retailers throughout the southeast I need all the knowledge I can get. I would be glad to post info especially pertaining to Lafuma as Lafuma specialiazes hiking fast and light. Many of our sleeping bags weigh less than most and are very compact which is why we probably sell about 90 or so during the Trail Days Event in Damascus Va, people are ready to lighten their load.
If you have any questions about our bags, packs footwear etc... I would be glad to answer. I will add post from time to time based on my experience as well as newsletters from Lafuma etc...

- Yes the Olympic Rainforest is a fine place. Olympus is a good goal to have. Its a beautiful mountain. When you see it up close it takes your breath away. You can combine your rainforest hike and the Olympus climb in one trip. Its about 17.5 miles up the Hoh Rainforest to the climbers camp called glacier meadows. Its typically a 3-5 day trip. More likely 5 for most folks. Maybe we could plan a trip sometime...

- So far I havent been fortunate enough to hike on the PCT. Ive hiked in the Cascades a little but not nearly enough. The entire PCT is on my someday list. For right now, the Olympics have been keeping me plenty busy.

Doug said… - Hey John, Aloha is 12 miles West of Portland between Hillsboro and Beaverton. I've only hike the pct in small sections here and there. Mostly these days I hang around the Mt. Hood Wilderness.
